Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Jon Kabat-Zinn, Professor Emeritus at Massachusetts Medical School, developed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine and Healthcare in 1979.

Dr. Saki Santorelli has been director of the center since Dr. Kabat-Zinn’s retirement in 2000. I was trained by both of them in a five-day professional training in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California in 2001.

Those five days were a paradigm shift for me that changed my life. I also recently received update training from Dr Fadel Zeidan, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Wake Forest School of Medicine, and Associate Director of Neuroscience, Center of Integrative Medicine.
